DIY cleanup safety
Clean smart. Stay safe.
Wear gloves and sturdy, closed footwear.
Never handle sharp, medical or hazardous waste — note its location and report it to local authorities.
Don't disturb wildlife, nests or dune and stream-bank vegetation.
Supervise children at all times near water.
Follow local rules and closures, and check tides and conditions before you go.
Separate recyclables where facilities exist, and dispose of everything responsibly.
Never put yourself at risk to retrieve rubbish. No piece of litter is worth an injury.
